Ella's Poems

 “Pencil”

                                           Inside my
                                         pencil only
                                          one thing
                                         is there. A
                                           turtle you
                                          see his na-
                                           me is Hare.
                                           His shell is
                                          yellow with
                                           speckles of
                                           green, and
                                           his nose is
                                        pink like a pig
                                          who is clean.
                                            When the
                                            Doorbell
                                           for a minute
                                           or ten; Hare
                                           goes in his
                                            shell and
                                              goes to
                                                 bed.

 “Ella Waddle”
                   Energetic all the time;
                            Laughing with my friends.
                            Licking Blow-Pop suckers;
                            All over again.
Waking up at 6:30 for school
                            And
                            Dreading the school day;
                            Doesn’t stop me from
                            Loving life
                            Everyday in my own way.

                        “Kangaroo”
There once was a fat kangaroo.
Who knew who he belonged to.
He had a big fat hat.
                      To keep away a bat,
and soon moved to the town RooHoo.

                “Then to Now”

I am fourteen, used to be one.
In my life I have gotten a lot done.
I used to have perfect vision,
                                        but not anymore.
I have contacts now and see greater
                                        than ever before.
I used to be crazy, but have gotten more lazy.
And I can wait to see what my future holds.

 “Douglasses’ House”
In the basement with my friends
                                  wow our stories never end.
                              Quietness suddenly appears by all
and upstairs we hear something fall.
We all got scared and then we run,
Up a steep driveway; not so fun.
With clubs in our hands and food
in our mouths, we all get on the
                                        road and run south.
We then arrive at someone's house,
and there is not one single mouse.
                             The guy at the house, who we knew;
went to go check all the way through.
What a night, nobody was there,
just think if it were a bear.

 “Pine Trees”
Pine cones smell like a bonfire.
Pine cones feel hard and rough.
Pine cones look brown and bumpy.
Pine cones sound loud and shallow.
                  Pine cones taste like wood.

   “Casaby”

                                         This is a Casaby.
A Casaby lives on cozy couches close to Canada.
                           A Casaby eats crunchy carrots,
                  cauliflower, cantaloupe, corn, and cheese.
A Casaby likes colorful crayons, crazy clowns,
                                 and comfortable chairs.
A Casaby crawls across countries counting clouds.
My Casaby climbed a mountain continuously in each continent.

     “Christmas”
                              Holiday festivities are right
                                    around the corner.
                              Nothing is colder than the
                                 snowfall, so warn her!
                              French toast is being made
I wish I could be in the
                               shade; but the poppin’,
                                sizzlin’, drippin’, is all
                                         homemade!
In fuzzy socks to keep me
warm, oh so nice not being
                                         in a swarm.

“Carpet”
                     Warm. Cozy. Snugly. Feet.
What a wonderful feeling standing on heat.
With little dark pieces twirling between your toes.
And the scent of freshness finding
                          Its way through your nose.
There’s not a squeak or beep coming out of it, no.
                          Maybe a little stain, though!
All through the house on the bottoms of your feet.
Warm. Cozy. Snugly. Is all you need.

  “Monkeys”
                           Brown Monkeys, Black Monkeys
                                   Colorful ones too.

                           Swinging from branch to branch
collecting bananas right out of the blue.

                            Playing with friends and family
                          their dreams have come true.

                              Climbing through the jungle,
what else could they possibly do?
